Episode #218 The L.A. Times publishes Allison's response to their lackadaisical approach to Fox News's propaganda machine. You can read the full rebuttal here: http://www.latimes.com/news/opinion/opinionla/la-oew-kilkenny-fox-news-20101229,0,4734743.story

Bill Ayers visits the show (and fights through some nasty laryngitis) to recap 2010.

Jamie gives advice to people who'd like to go vegan, but are having a hard time because their significant other refuses to go veg.

Other topics: Dennis Kucinich's district may be in danger, Loud Sauce (the alternative to defacing billboards,) and private mercenaries, funded by anonymous governments, fight 'pirates.'

Allison reads a list of unbelievable Republican quotes that showcase how the rich really feel about the poor and unemployed. In the process, Jamie coins an amazing new phrase.

Episode #215 President Obama signed the DADT repeal act despite the best efforts from the GOP to derail the entire effort. It's another installment of Fridays with Bill Ayers! The theme this week is how to cope with your conservative family, and on the note, Allison offers some helpful myth-busting factoids concerning unions. Also, Jamie debuts some exciting Chanukah songs, and John Knefel shares a heartwarming story about true love.

Episode #213 DADT has finally been repealed, no thanks to the embarrassment named John McCain who secured his passage in the "bigots" chapter of the nation's history books.

Sadly, the Senate killed the Dream Act, thereby punishing millions of innocent children.

Allison and Jamie explain how the Senate's tax cut plan hurts poor people (those making $20,000/yr and less will experience a tax hike,) and rewards the rich. This, and other compromises that hurt the poor, have been done in the spirit of bipartisanship, which is actually a racket designed to help corporate interests and punish the lower classes.

Finally, Jamie explains why children of negligent parents shouldn't be punished.

Episode #212 Allison talks about Bernie Sander's audit of the Federal Reserve, which is beginning to help us understand where our tax dollars went during the bailouts.

According to recent polls, the Afghanistan war is now as unpopular as the Iraq War was during the Bush years, and people are actually more concerned about ending the war than they are about fixing the deficit. Not that you'd know any of this from watching the news, of course.

It's the triumphant return of "What The Fuck Did They Just Do?" This week's topics: Mortgages, credit scores, and the NRA.

Jamie has some choice words for the ex-vegans out there, and Pandagon's Amanda Marcotte stops by to talk abot sexism, blogging, feminism, and atheism. Be sure to read all of Amanda's writing at Pandagon.net, and check out her book, "It's a Jungle Out There: The Feminist Survival Guide to Politically Inhospitable Environments."

Citizen Radio revisits the Bush-Blair memos (Correction: Allison accidentally called this the "Bush-Brown" memos.) which revealed US-UK leaders planned to target Al Jazeera's headquarters.

Then, a brief discussion about Richard Holbrooke's horrible legacy, including backing military dictatorships and illegal military invasions.

Jamie shares another insane tasering story, plus a disturbing/adorable story about cows.

Ayers talks about the Weather Underground, particularly the political tumultuousness of the time that created the environment in which activists turned to violence. He also discusses President Obama, education, charter schools, and what makes him happy.

Lewis joins the show to chat about her days in ACORN, and her new project, the Black Institute, along with her work at New York Communities for Change, which helps people fight back on foreclosures. Episode #199 The full-body scanners are still in the news with President Kenneth the Page AKA Bobby Jindal gracing Meet The Press with his presence to defend "behavioral" profiling, which is racial profiling in disguise.

Citizen Radio talks about the illusion of safety, the odd timing of the pro-TSA privatization movement now that employees desire to unionize (http://allisonkilkenny.com/2010/11/are-republicans-pro-tsa-privatization-because-of-unionization/,) how other governments and security officials don't think the full-body scanners guarantee more safety, and how the fully-body scanner craze started when Michael Chertoff, former Bush national security official, pimped the system in the days after the blundered attack without disclosing his consulting firm represents the companies designing the scanners (http://allisonkilkenny.com/2010/11/less-liberty-always-equals-more-safety/).

Also, Allison and Jamie discuss the "good news" about Harry Reid defeating crazy, crazy Sharron Angle.

According to a recent UK study, alcohol is the most dangerous drug - worse than heroine, and nearly 4 times worse than pot. Allison and Jamie talk about their own experiences with alcohol, and also the need to end all kinds of prohibition, which is why recent ballot initiatives like Prop 19 are so important for the country's future.

Jamie discusses his disdain for CNN anchor Tony Harris, and Allison talks about how Fox Business Network recently focused on something called the "War on Business," including a California ballot initiative that parent company News Corp. has spent $1.3 million to defeat, according to the New York Times. Also in BP news, Department of Wildlife and Fisheries Secretary, Robert Barham, says the oil and Corexit used in the Gulf could "linger for as long as 300 years." There are also reports of a new oil plume, which makes it difficult to buy the narrative that the oil miraculously disappeared.

Allison and Jamie attempt to unpack Beck's quote, explain evolution, and briefly worry about the attachment of the word "yet."

Next, they discuss the firing of Juan Williams, the former NPR news analyst, who was sacked for making disparaging comments about Muslims. Hilariously, Andrew Breitbart claims Williams was "Shirley Sherroded." Topics include: How the Obama administration has continued Bush era policies, why the War on Drugs is similar to the War on Terror, Elena Kagan, cause and effect in the War On Terror, Jon Stewart and false equivalencies, the unconstitutional detention of Guantanamo prisoners, gay teen suicides and the Obama administration's treatment of the LGBT community, third party candidates, America's collapsing empire, and of course...puppies.

But first, Allison and Jamie discuss the sad and strange story of Katherine O'Connor, who was denied an inhaler by a CVS pharmacist because she couldn't pay the $21.50 for her medication (Katherine only had $20). Jamie likens this story to the one about a Tennessee man, who called the fire department when his house caught on fire, but the firefighters let his home burn to the ground because he hadn't paid a $75 fire protection fee, and the larger trend of privatization sweeping the country.

Finally, it's time for more of your Listener Mail! She brings a unique perspective to the comedy world. A mother of two, and a former prison guard, Ava works in a thoroughly male-dominated industry. Today, she offers some words of advice to machismo comedians who make it their business to bully and belittle vulnerable minorities on stage.

Later, Jamie and Allison answer more of your Listener Mail! Your questions/comments this week concern fleeing the country, and finding volunteers to help Billy Kennedy defeat crazy, crazy Virginia Fox (interested parties should call 336-724-5941 for information.)

Episode #178 Allison and Jamie are still in the land of Oz, and visited Villawood, home of a refugee prison. Parties interested in visiting these unconscionable prisons (and Citizen Radio highly recommends that you do,) should contact Daniel on Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/not.god.deluded

They share their experiences meeting with the refugee prisoners, and Jamie shares his initial doubts about the tour, and then explains why the entire visit was a life-changing experience.

A follow-up to the "mosquito" story. Youth activists have scored a huge victory and successfully lobbied to have the sound weapons taken down in the D.C. area.

Taser International has finally decided to acknowledge that its weapons - ya' know - kill people.

In Tennessee, a man had to watch as his home burned to the ground...all because he didn't pay the $75 fire department protection fee. Allison explains why this story is a glimpse into the dystopian future of Conservative leadership.

It's the heroic return of the One Minute Fuck Yous! The subjects this week are the country of Australia (at least a substantial part of it,) and Rand Paul.

Governor Terminator has proposed draconian cuts to California's budget, including the elimination of California's welfare-to-work program and virtually all child care for low income families. Allison and Jamie discuss how the government spies on activism groups, including the disturbing recent story of an Israeli private contractor hired by Gov. Congress failed to bring equality to the military this week when they refused to repeal Don't Ask, Don't Tell. Allison and Jamie discuss the travesty, and also why John McCain is a lying liar.

Plus, they discuss Blanche Lincoln, the Senator from Walmart, and the need to reform the Democratic Party from the inside-out.

It's time for more of your Listener Mail! Your questions/comments this week concern what the hell to do if you're a 15-year-old atheist trapped in Kansas, and if President Obama deserves credit for shrinking the deficit by eight percent.

Episode #172 Jamie shares more stories from Kansas, including the racist crowd-pleasing jokes he took issue with while he was there.

Allison receives a love letter from Frasier's Kelsey Grammer. Kind of.

Here's what happened: A while ago, Allison wrote an article about Grammer's newest business venture: "Right Network," which promises to be a pro-business, pro-military pro-nationalist television channel. Because as we all know, there aren't enough Capitalistic, militaristic, pro-US, old, white males on the teevee.

There have been a lot of stand-up Citizen Radio fans this week, who get some special shout-outs in this episodes, including the Kansas fans who came out to support Jamie, and the London fans, who met up for the Protest the Pope gathering. Great job, you Comrades Of The Week!

Check out The Real News' series of highly informative interviews with Doug.

Christine O'Donnell is the new crazy, crazy face of the Tea Party. Every day, it seems new, hilarious quotes surface from O'Donnell's past, including the time she said: "American scientific companies are cross-breeding humans and animals and coming up with mice with fully functioning human brains. So they’re already into this experiment." Beware the mice men!

Allison scolds the establishment media for not holding the deficit hypocrites accountable even as centrist Democrats actively work to increase the deficit, while claiming they're "fiscally conservative."

Episode #166 Allison and Jamie wrap up their dispatches from Bumbershoot, including some interesting stories concerning Hole and Weezer.

Allison reports on the "mosquito," a device placed outside certain merchant shops in Washington D.C., which emits a high-pitch sound designed to drive away teenagers. She considers this a weapon, and argues teenagers have the right to destroy it in self-defense.

The mosquito is yet another device used to suppress the natural rebellious state of teenagers, much like Prozac, webcast monitoring, constant police presence in schools, tasers, and sound cannons.

In related tasering news, Washington police have killed five civilians in a single week, and two of those deaths involved tasers.http://allisonkilkenny.com/2010/09/projectile-vomit-blowin-in-the-wind/

Episode #165 Citizen Radio reports from Bumbershoot in Seattle. Allison gives her thoughts on certain drunken Bob Dylan fans, and Jamie offers a contrast by describing the Edward Sharpe experience.

In exchange for Pentagon-level access, NBC threw pretty boy Richard Engel on the back of an army bus and framed the narrative as the "last combat troops" leaving Iraq. In reality, 50,000 troops (with guns!) remain in Iraq, plus over 100,000 private contractors inside enormous US-build bases. The occupation is far from over, which is why the AP refused to parrot the official government line.

Also, Jamie banishes another Citizen Radio listener, and brainstorms about different ways to keep corporations from advertising at individuals. Allison explains the "public space" defense, while Jamie proposes boycotting the worst corporate offenders.

Episode #144

Broadcasting from "the rotting abyss that is" Las Vegas during Netroots Nation, Jamie and Allison discuss and complain about the city they find themselves trapped in, travelling with Virgin Air and re-segregation of schools in North Carolina.

Interviews follow with Justin Krebs, author of '538 Ways to Live Work and Play Like a Liberal' and comedian Lee Camp.

Listen as they try to keep themselves from committing suicide to escape the fat tourists surrounding their hotel like zombies.

Episode #141

The episode starts out with an insult-off between Jamie and Allison, guess who wins?

Argentina legalised gay marriage.  Another country that America knows nothing about does something America should do.  Jamie comes up with a rare funny tweet acceptable joke.  The real fans of the show are called out, specifically Iran, mothers from Wisconsin and King of the Dolphins.  Oooooh...

Jamie and Allison discuss how to deal with the guilt associated with not giving money to homeless people and why the police can't just pick them up and take them to a homeless shelter, the deficit, austerity hawks and Obama hiring some new guy to take steps to cut the deficit (something two new polls show is against the will of the people).

The episode ends with viewer mail regarding how to take activism to the next level, why calling food 'organic' means shit and buying meat from an organic small farm is still killing an animal, Citizen Radio Wikia, how to not buy from evil corporations.

Episode #140

Jamie and Allison report in from Montreal, you can practically hear the wild yaksmen and maple syrup flowing in the background.

Jamie slows the fuck down and ends up becoming a robot.  Jamie discusses a radio interview and another border patrol story, this time including missing minority people.

Allison discusses NASA reporting that the first half of 2010 was the hottest season on record, the difference between climate and weather (and the fucking morons that get it confused).  An update on Obama about how at least he's not a fucking monster.  Briefly touch on the Burqa ban in France.

Episode #139

Allison and Jamie discuss the gross injustice of the Oscar Grant ruling, and the parallels between that case and the Troy Davis trial. Jamie also talks about the dangers of calling tasers the "nonlethal" alternative to deadly force.

Yet another study has come out saying the wealth disparity is at an all time high in the US. Allison points out that it seems like this same study comes out every month, but how this time there is some encouraging talk coming from the new UAW president, Bob King. http://allisonkilkenny.com/2010/07/600th-study-released-showing-huge-wealth-disparity/

Surprise, surprise. Rich people are seriously delinquent on their mortgage payments. In fact, while poor people are much more likely to keep paying their lenders even if they're struggling financially, rich people are far more likely to just way away from their obligations. Why aren't Republicans crying for more personal responsibility from the wealthy?http://allisonkilkenny.com/2010/07/quick-someone-blame-black-people/

Clarence Thomas's nephew was tasered by hospital staff. Surely, this personal connection with an abused family member will convince Clarence to reverse some of his more draconian thinking. ... Yeah, maybe not so much.

Finally, it's time for more of your Listener Mail! Your questions/comments this week concern dealing with your apathetic high school classmates, and how to convince liberals to transcend their ghettoized labels in order to form a more collective movement.

Episode #138

This episode finds our intrepid team starting off with a personal viewer mail, specifically whether Jamie and Allison disagree on anything.  Answer: Kinda.  Not really.  Takes about 20min to find that out, but a hilarious 20min.  Also, Jamie admits once again that he had a spoken word phase and we find out that while Allison hasn't seen star wars, Jamie hasn't seen any of the Godfather movies, leaving subscribers the world over confused as to who to feel disappointed in the most.

The discussion then turns to the account of G20 Canadian police arresting an amputee, cops and the changing perception of police officers as you get older and how perceptions of groups tends to occur when the media presents individuals of the group in a certain light.

To round out the episode Jamie and Allison briefly touch on the issue of journalists being embedded within the military, David Cameron and why with only 100 Al-Qaeda left in Afghanistan are we still spending billions of dollars, losing life and taking innocent life away in the country.

Episode #125

An interview with a legendary tattoo artist!

Allison and Jamie interview tattoo artist and legend, Guy Aitchison (http://www.hyperspacestudios.com/), who many of you may remember from his guest appearance with his sister Hannah on TLC's LA Ink.

Guy has had more influence on the world of tattooing in the last decade than any other artist. His work has been published on numerous occasions in tattoo magazines including 'Outlaw Biker Tattoo Review', 'Easyrider Tattoo' , 'Skin Art', 'Skin Ink', 'International Tattoo Art' and countless others. He is also a painter and writer, publishing his own tattoo manuals: The Graphic Language for Tattooists and Special Effects for Tattooists.

He is the author of the amazing book, Organica, which covers the last 18 years of his career and focuses in particular on the abstract, free-form imagery that he is known for (http://www.amazon.com/Organica-Guy-Aitchison/dp/0977127001?tag=vglnk-c9-20).

Guy agreed to tattoo wedding rings for Allison and Jamie, along with sleeves. Allison and Jamie intended to talk about tattooing with Guy, but quickly realized his knowledge and insight extend far beyond ink.

Passionate, political, and prolific, Guy talks about everything from tattooing to the human mind, to the universe, to nerds, with Allison and Jamie as he tattoos them.

And finally, in a Citizen Radio FIRST, a guest turns the tables on Allison and Jamie and interviews THEM.

Episode #121

Special guest, comic Brent Sullivan (http://www.brent-j-sullivan.com/ ) stops by to discuss God Hates Fags, Obama, the lgbt community, Flotilla, and Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell.

Brent is on Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/brentjamessullivan?ref=ts). Lots of you added him last time he appeared on the show, so hopefully more of you will do the same this time!

A New York City based stand up comedian, Brent describes his act as a true interpretation of himself on stage. Full of dichotomies, he has been described as wonderfully sarcastic, lovingly condescending and “gay – but not gay.”

He has honed his act around a variety of themes that all fit within the typical gay American life, however, without the stereotypical attitude that plagues most gay comedians. His hysterically unique approach and refreshing take on conventional gay issues promises to bring gay comedy to a new level of mainstream acceptance.

Brent joins Citizen Radio to discuss the aspects of the fractured, unorganized progressive community, corporatism, Flotilla, political candidates who treat American citizens like children, how he deals with his Conservative friends, and the Bush family’s connections with the gay community.

Next, Jamie shares a story about “rage reading” against a Conservative on an airplane.

Finally, Brent discusses Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell, and the repeal process, which seems to be forever stalled in Congress.

Episode #120

First up, the Unfunny But Totally Real Headlines! Learn about the world, while sitting on your ass, and feel like you’re ACTUALLY doing something! It’s only two minutes, and then you can sound smart to your apathetic hipster douche bag friends. As always, try to spot the ridiculous Fox News headline!
Allison is no longer blogging for True Slant. Steve Forbes recently acquired the blog, and Allison decided she wouldn’t be a good fit for Forbes (for obvious reasons) if she had been asked to stay aboard, so now she’s gone rouge! Follow her work at http://allisonkilkenny.com.

She will now be funding her journalism with private donations, so please give generously if you enjoy her work! Paypal donation buttons are set up on the website. You can give a one-time donation, or monthly donations (monthly donors will receive Jamie Kilstein’s free CD or a Citizen Radio t-shirt). Give to Allison because – unlike the New York Times – she won’t lead you to war!

Citizen Radio’s next LIVE show will feature music guru MOBY! Other future Citizen Radio Live guests include John Oliver, Robin Williams, and more!

Allison provides an update on BP’s underwater oil volcano, including how the “Top Kill” option failed, and there are now reports of dead dolphins washing ashore, endangered sea turtles with oil on their corneas, and endangered brown pelicans dying.

Then, it’s time for Listener Mail! Your questions/comments this week include how to meet other like-minded progressives, the plentiful emails we received from you guys concerning Libertarian Socialism, and surviving living in the Conservative south (including miseducation campaigns about the “War Of Yankee Aggression” and safe sex).

Finally, Jamie and Allison play “Who Would You Fight?” the totally improvised game where Allison presents two people to Jamie, and he must decide who he would fight.

Episode #119

Due to overwhelming requests, Citizen Radio brings you Jamie Kilstein’s live hour at the Upright Citizen’s Brigade Theatre in NYC!

In this hour, Jamie tears into President Obama, homophobes, organized religion, the Christian “side hug” phenomenon, abstinence programs, the Church Of The Smiling Vagina, and he comes to terms with the fact that he was a little asshole for most of his life.

Much thanks to everyone who came out to Jamie’s live show, but for our international audience, and non-NYC based fans, this is your reward for being loyal and awesome – an hour of free, new comedy!

Also, look for Jamie in Paul Provenza’s new book Satiristas (http://www.satiristas.com/), featuring the last interview with the great George Carlin, and also interviews with Roseanne Barr, Bill Maher, Conan O’Brien, Stephen Colbert, and more!
